I had the pleasure of working with the amazing Gryphon Trio, mezzo-soprano Marion Newman, composer Andrew Balfour and the Nordic Voices as part of an international multi-media project exploring the question: How do we speak to the future?
Using music, narration, images, and film to explore models of knowledge sharing and processes of truth and reconciliation in four areas of the world: Canada, Norway, Austria, and Mali, I was lucky enough to work on overall sound design and musical transitions for the concert.
One of my first projects of the 2020 lockdown was to work on the audio design for this incredible film, by Winnipeg filmmaker, BJ Verot. The Return is a horror film that follows a brilliant college student who returns to his family home, where he learns that the horrors from his childhood aren’t as dead and gone as he once thought.
The film is out now on iTunes. Watch it now.
It was a pleasure putting together the release of my work ‘Telephonic’, performed by the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra. While this piece was originally intended to be a live work, the pandemic led us to create a ‘home version’, with instrumentalists recording their parts from home. I hope you enjoy this tribute to early telecommunication methods, particularly the telephone, and the impact they continue to play on our modern society.

I was lucky enough to take part in the inaugural 1:2:1 program, run by Nick Photinos of Eighth Blackbird, as an online substitute to the Bang on a Can program cancelled this year. I had the opportunity to work with an incredible violinist, Camila Caldwell from Australia. We constructed a piece based around tape-data noise from 1980s magnetic storage methods.

I am very happy to announce that I have been chosen as one of the composers for this year’s RBC Bridges Soundstreams program. This year the focus is around choral music, and attendees will be composing a piece for an 8-piece vocal ensemble. Very excited to begin working on this piece!
I am very excited to announce that I have been selected as one of six composers for this year’s PIVOT Program, run by the Canadian League of Composers. This year they will be partnering with the premiere vocal group from Edmonton Alberta, Pro Coro Canada. I am eager to begin this choral journey as a part of this program.
