New commission for Violin and Pachislo Slot Machine!

I have been commissioned by Edmonton-based violinist Arlan Vries as part of his OCAD-funded FutureProofing research project. Each composition in the project involves utilizing a piece of outdated technology. For my piece, entitled P@ch$nk0, I aim to successfully fuse the sound of the violin and a 1990s Japanese Pachislo slot machine. Audience members will participate in the piece by playing the game, contributing to the soundscape, and determining the direction of the overall composition based on whether they win or lose.

The piece will be performed on June 20th, in Walter Hall at the University of Toronto.
